Fall Foliage Scenic Drive - Connecticut Route 169

By Cliff Calderwood

This fall foliage scenic drive runs south to north in the eastern corner of Connecticut along Route 169. Peak fall foliage in Connecticut usually starts mid-October and lasts through end of October.

Traveling Route 169 is as much about historic buildings and communities with traditions, as about brilliant color changes - although you’ll be blessed with plenty of leaf-peeping opportunities as well.

Eurail Train Travel: Luxury at Speed

By Gareth Powell

You can effectively extend a touring holiday of Europe by several days and perhaps save money. To do it you need a Eurail pass and a little forward planning.

This is how it works. With a Eurail Pass you can go from city center to city center in Europe in great comfort at a reasonable price.

The key to this is the phrase 'city center to city center'. Consider Paris. The airport, Charles de Gaulle, is 23 km north-east of Paris. If you go by taxi in either direction it costs the national debt and takes 45 minutes. There are regular buses and trains but your journey is never going to be less than 45 minutes. Leaving, you have security to go through and the airlines would like you there well before take-off. At least an hour, sometimes two hours.

Cruise Alaska a Dream Come True

By Adam Lenk

There's no better way to take in the explosive panorama of Alaska than from the deck of a cruise ship. Let Alaska's wildlife and amazing sea and landscapes surround you in all its grace while you sit back and indulge in all kinds of cruise ship pampering.

Rise early and witness the soul-shaking rumble and crack of glacier shards as they drop into Alaska's jade green waters, and then duck inside for a croissant and a cup of joe. Spy a brown bear hunting salmon or a harbor seal catching some rays while you soak up the sun on deck in a chaise lounge with that book you've been longing to read.

Christmas Vacations On Tropical Islands

By Aimee C. Barnard

It’s 3 months before Christmas and if you want to get away from home during this holiday season, it’s time to make plans to ensure a stress-free Christmas vacation!

Some people may traditionally prefer to go where the snow is, where it’s freezing, and where Santa has no problems wearing ultra-thick clothes.

I recommend going where the sun shines the whole day, where you can frolic on white sand beaches and swim in the warm sea, where you can go shopping in exotic stores wearing only a pair of sandals and Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.

Already excited? Well, read on and find out more about these 5 islands that you’re bound to want to visit during the Yuletide season.
