The Enjoyment of Screened Gazebo Camping
Travel Tips
By Keith Kampschaefer
For those of us who enjoy the atmosphere of a well set up camp site, we tend to put more thought and effort as to what camping gear is needed to do so. I’m sure that most of us, who go camping at least on a periodic basis, have the essential camping gear needed to provide food and shelter, such as tents, coolers, sleeping bags, and some sort of outdoor cooking grill or camping stove. And if you have these basic camping items, along with adequate cooking and eating utensils, personal hygiene products, flashlights and lanterns, and of course plenty of food for camping, your campground enjoyment will pull in without a hitch.
I think it would be safe to say that there are several elements most of us would agree on that commonly add more pleasure to a campground setting. Not in any specific order, but three key ingredients would be the outdoor environment itself, scenery and wildlife; the campground location and presentation; as well as the camping gear and how it is set up. I would add to this list, a warm, centrally located campfire to gather around while cooking and eating, or simply enjoying the camaraderie, with others. In reality, two people sitting on logs beside a campfire while enjoying the warmth of friendship and the peaceful crackling and relaxing aroma of the fire, constitutes a complete campground setting to the “nth degree.”

The best romantic vacations are those that bring a couple together. This can mean spending time alone, without friends or family around. It can also mean an opportunity to do things together. Here are five of the best romantic vacations.
Survival Clothing For Outdoor Emergencies
Travel Tips
By Steven Gillman
Maybe you don't need to learn about survival clothing. Maybe you always hike with a spare jacket. Perhaps you never go out into the wilderness overnight, but just for day hikes. Or you bring lots of warm clothing when you do go backpacking.
Nonetheless, hundreds of people die or come close to dying every year from exposure. They thought they were prepared. They didn't expect their clothes to get wet from falling in a stream, they didn't think they'd be out there for the night, or they get lost for days.
Coming down from Mount Whitney I met several young men in t-shirts on their way up, determined to get to the top. They had no gear, and not enough time, but they probably made it there by sunset anyhow. They also certainly didn't make it the eleven miles back to their car before dark. It was below freezing that night, so I imagine they were uncomfortable at best.
Studying Wake Turbulence at Airports Using the Sun as Background
Air Travel
By Lance Winslow
Airports are needing to study the wake turbulence of aircraft taking off at large airports to improve safety. Wake turbulence has caused many accidents between large aircraft and smaller ones literally turning the aircraft upside down and putting it into a death spiral. Only the most advanced pilots can complete the induced roll and fly out of danger. But even so during take off and landing operations at an airport there is significant dangers when you are low and slow.
Due to wake turbulence aircraft are to wait a minimum of three minutes before taking off or landing behind another aircraft. If you are in a light aircraft and the wind is directly down the runway you may wish to wait five minutes to be safe. The times between aircraft means you can take off less aircraft each hour and this can cause traffic delays for airlines costing millions and wasting fuel idling to take off. Additionally upset airline passengers end up missing connecting flights.

Spring Break
Destinations
By Mark Stone
"Spring break!" The mere mention of the phrase would conjure distinct visions of fun for any particular age group in American history. For well-heeled college students at least as far back as the 19th Century, the spring holiday was a casual time to recuperate from academic stresses. For those who came of age in the late 1950s and early 60s, Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello defined and inspired a more established spring break ritual. Young adults today, who have never known life without MTV, experience spring break as an aggressively produced and marketed event that has all the flash of a rock concert, major sporting event, and fashion show, all rolled into one annual beach blast.
